A directory of trusted support organisations and verified local specialists, so a renter who has documented a problem can find real help nearby, not just a list of names.
Free to use ยท Guidance and tools, not legal advice
Why a directory
By the time a renter has documented a problem and written to their landlord, the question that follows is often simple: who can actually help from here? A directory closes that gap, pointing to the right support organisation for advice, or a verified specialist for the work itself, instead of leaving people to search blind.
It is not built yet. This page explains the plan, and how to register interest for when it opens. Registering now costs nothing and commits you to nothing, it just means you are on the list to be checked and included as soon as verification opens.
Two kinds of listing
Independent advice services, charities and statutory bodies such as Threshold, Citizens Information and local authority housing teams, listed so a renter can find the right one for their situation without searching.
Local tradespeople for mould remediation, damp treatment and repairs, checked for registration, insurance and relevant experience before they carry a verification badge.

How verification will work
A badge will mean something has actually been checked, not that someone paid for a higher spot or collected the most stars. Right now, ahead of that system going live, anything shown on SafeHousing is built only from public domain information, nothing submitted and nothing paid for.
What happens next
STEP 1
Email your organisation or business name, county and what you do. It takes two minutes and commits you to nothing.
STEP 2
Registration, insurance and relevant experience where they apply, the same standard every listing will be held to.
STEP 3
When the directory opens, checked organisations and specialists are listed from day one, not added to a queue.
Common questions
Not yet. SafeHousing is building it out, and listings today are drawn only from public domain information, nothing paid and nothing submitted. Email hello@safehousing.ie to register interest for when it opens.
No. There is no cost to be included, and there will not be a pay-to-rank option. The aim is a trustworthy list, not an advertising slot.
The plan is editorial verification, not star ratings: real registration, insurance and relevant experience checked before a badge is given, not a popularity contest.
Yes. Support organisations such as advice services and charities will always be listed free, since the goal is to make it easier for renters to find real help.
